Flint and thatch... sparkling rivers and broads, rolling fields and meadows, Norfolk is far from flat... popular seaside resorts and harbours - and rich in local colour and dialect.

THE TROSHER SHORT STORY COMPETITION 2011

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU who submitted stories. We had a record number of entries this year – 30 in total – with some absolutely amazing stories and, after much deliberation, the judges selected the three winning entries, which are as follows:

Things That
Go Bump In
The Night

By Lyn Fountain

The Regular
By Ian Vargeson

I Was A Stranger
By Katherine Bygrave

These three stories will appear in the spring Merry Mawkin.

The prizes will be presented at the FOND Pantomime – Cinderella and the Glass Wellie – on Sunday 15 January 2012 at 2pm in North Elmham Village Hall.

Finally, as one of the judges, I have to say how impressed I was by the standard of work displayed by a great many of our entrants – well done to you all.
